South Atlantic Petroleum Limited (SAPETRO) is a Nigerian Oil Exploration and Production Company that was created in 1995 by General T. Y. Danjuma.
At the time of SAPETRO’s inception General Danjuma had over 25 years of business experience from his very successful shipping agency and terminal operator, NAL-Comet as well as relevant expertise having spent seven years as chairman of the Board of Directors of Agip Nigeria Plc until 1995.The ministry of Petroleum Resources awarded the Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 246 to SAPETRO in February, 1998. The block covers a total area of 2,590km2 (1,000 sq. miles) and lies 120-160km due South of Port Harcourt, in water depths of about 1,100m-1,800m. SAPETRO partnered with Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd (TUPNI), and Brasoil Oil Services Company Nigeria Ltd (Petrobras) to start prospection on OPL246. Akpo, a condensate field was discovered in April 2000 with the drilling of the first exploration well (Akpo 1) on the block. Other discoveries made on OPL 246 include the Egina Main, Egina South, Preowei and Kuro (Kuro was suspended as a dry gas/minor oil discovery). POSITION: DRILLING MANAGER
The candidate shall be responsible for all the Drilling, Completion and Work over activities of the Company and is expected to execute the following;

Co-ordinate the preparation of drilling, Completion and Work over programs.
Manage the Drilling, Completion and Work over execution activities to ensure they are implemented within budget schedule.
Design and execute tendering processes.
Manage relationship with contractors
Supervise and provide leadership to Drilling Engineers,
Ensure that all data and reports related to Drilling, Completion and work over activities are obtained and well kept.
Ensure that all reports are prepared and submitted to all relevant authorities,
Obtain in time all necessary approvals from all relevant authorities.
Maintain good working relationship with Government Agencies

Approximately 15 – 20 years relevant experience in Drilling,
Completion and Work over operations in the Oil and Gas industry.
Good knowledge of drilling rig management, procurement, logistics and supply chain. Well organized and safety conscious. Good project management skills.
Good leadership and supervisory skills
Good people management and relationship skills.
Ability to speak French is an advantage
